Abstract
In order to solve the problem of water loss and soil erosion from sever damage to the hill body caused by heap leaching and pool leaching techniques adopted popularly to deal with ionic type rare-earth in southern China, a rare-earth mine in Fujian province promoted in-situ leaching mining technique-a research achievement of Ninth Five -year national key scientific and technology projects. The generalization of the new technique not only protected the appearance of the hill body and avoided the water loss and soil erosion, but also enabled the rareearth mine to obtain the notable economic and social benefits.
