  • The final bank slope not only determines the slope stabilization but also direct offect the economic benefits of the mining.A new formula for calculating the safety factor of bank slope is induced from a lot of examples of slope engineering at abroad by meansof statistics.With the application of the formula, the bank slope (α)of a certain surface mine is verified, the safety factor F=1.49>Fmin, givenα=45°, the side slope is stable, while F=1.33>Fmin, givenα=50°, the side slope is also stable.The formula indicates that the final bank slope angle can be enlarged.
