Abstract: OPC specification is a standard of industry defined by OPC Foundation, which standardizes the open interface between process control and the software of manufacture automation and the drive program of hardware realized by OPC server. The acquisition of WINCC real-time data in smelter was realized by using visual basic for applications (VBA) based on OLE for process control (OPC), and the detail steps and demo programs are offered. Practice indicates that the method can solve commendably the problems of printing of complicated industrial data report, cheap long-distance control and seamless join of different control systems.
