Abstract: This paper analyzes the harmfulness, source apportionment, emission standard and detection and purification technology of inhalable air particulate based on the current researches. It shows that the understanding on the harmful effects and source structure of the inhalable air particulates is far from enough. A stricter emission standard about the inhalable air particulate including amount concentration, should be worked out by practicing a composite purification technology with electrostatic precipitator, wet rinsing and thermophoresis technology, etc.
