Abstract: The concept, classification and process principle of liquid membrane are introduced.Liquid membrane technique is a simple, efficient and cost-saving method compared with conventional separation and purification techniques.The application process of liquid membrane technique on separation and concentration of metal ions are reviewed and its further developing potential is pointed out.
