Abstract: In view of the main problems exist in the sublevel caving method used in mining No.84 orebady of Qianshan area in Tongshan copper mine such as:difficult ventilation, stope self-combustion, earth pressure control and high ore losing and ore dilution, a test of mining is suggested which consists of sublevel open stoping followed by filling.The test results have shown improve ventilation greatly, control stope self-combustion and less earth pressure activity, which has brought about good social and economic benefits.
