Abstract:
Compared with traditional tool steel, stainless steel bearing materials (such as M50, 440C), 60NiTi alloy has various advantages such as low elastic modulus (~100 GPa), high hardness (58~62 HRC), low density (6.71 g/cm
3), large recoverable strain (5%), high specific strength, non-magnetic, good dimensional stability, superior corrosion resistance and good lubricity, which promotes to becomes the ideal material for high performance bearings with long service life. However, the wear resistance of 60NiTi alloy is far less than that of traditional bearing materials such as tool steel and stainless steel, which limits its application and development to some extent. Hence, the researche on improving the wear resistance of 60NiTi alloy has become the forefront and hot spot of current research. In the present paper, the research progress of improving the wear resistance of 60NiTi alloy based on alloying, heat treatment and surface strengthening is comprehensively clarified. Meanwhile, the effects of various strengthening methods on the microstructure, martensitic transformation behavior, mechanical and functional properties of 60NiTi alloy are reviewed. In addition, in view of the existing problems of 60NiTi alloy, the future research directions of 60NiTi alloy were put forward.
