Abstract:
Based on the direct reduction process in rotary hearth furnace, the feasibility of alkalized bagasse as the binder of carbon composite pellet was investigated. First the influence of NaOH mass concentration, alkalization temperature, time and pelleting pressure on the mechanical strength of pellets was examined through single-factor experiment. Then the influence degree of these factors was investigated by using orthogonal experimental method. The result shows that the mechanical performance of cold-pressed carbon-containing pellets increases to a peak and then decreases with an increase in these four factors. The falling strength and compressive strength could reach 22.6 times per 0.5 meter and 79.3 N when the factors are settled as follows: 9 %NaOH concentration, 105 ℃ alkalization temperature forfour hours, and 15 MPa pelleting pressure.
