Abstract:
Ultrafine tungsten powder is an important raw material for making a variety of cemented carbide and structural materials. The main method to make it is through hydrogen reduction. Based on the review and analysis of a large amount of literatures, the research status of hydrogen reduction kinetics of tungsten oxide was reviewed, including its basic principle, the reduction process under different kinetic conditions and phase conversion. This paper introduced the effects of changing kinetic parameters on the particle size, morphology, structure and properties of tungsten powder when domestic and foreign scholars were dealing with the hydrogen reduction of different tungsten oxides, as well as the present situation and problems in practical industrial production. Several models and their equations of hydrogen reduction kinetics were introduced, and the kinetic model which may be applied to the hydrogen reduction kinetics of tungsten oxide was prospected.
