Abstract:
In recent years, the Li-rich materials
xLi
2MnO
3·(1-
x) LiMO
2(M=Ni, Co, Mn) for lithium ion battery have gained much attention for its low cost and high discharge specific capacity. However, Li-rich materials failed to be mass produced for their advantages of huge irreversible capacity loss, inferior cyclic performance, poor rate capability and voltage decay. Li-excess layered cathode materials LiLi
0.2Mn
0.54Co
0.13Ni
0.13O
2 were synthesized by a fast co-precipitation method. Its electrochemical performance, especially cyclic performance, was greatly improved by ZrO
2 coating.
