Abstract:
A CuZnMnAlSiFeCeB alloy for making the synchronizer closed-ring was designed using horizontal continuous casting, hot-extrusion and quenching with water spray. The as-casting and as-extrusion microstructures of the alloy were observed using optical microscope and scanning electron microscope with EDS. The results show that the as-casting microstructure is homogeneous with no air hole and inclusion. The as-extrusion microstructure of the alloy is composed of matrix of β phase with a little of α phase and strengthening phase. The tensile strengthen of the alloy after extrusion quenching is 783 MPa and the elongation is 5.89 %.
