Abstract: GanZhou is the main resource of ion-absorbed rare-earth mineral, and the evaluation and promotion of its industrial competitiveness is important for the rare earth industry in China. We establish a model system, from the perspective of resource reserves, resource value, production capacity, technology level, profitability, to evaluate the competitiveness of GanZhou's rare earth industry. The research shows that GanZhou has advantages in the aspects of resources, production capacity and technical level in south China, but the competitive advantage, which is mainly determined by the value of resources, is weak. GanZhou rare earth industry should start integrations in the processing, accelerate the formation of R & D alliances and local value chain.
