Abstract:
The iron existed in the form of fayalite and iron silicate in the smelting copper slag is difficult to be utilized comprehensively due to fine dissemination size, despite of the high grade iron. Experiments are performed to recover iron concentrate and heavy-medium coal preparation from copper tailings of copper slag by a united technology, which consist of magnetic separation, regrinding, magnetic separation and reverse flotation. The results show that an iron concentrate with grade at 51.56 % Fe and recovery at 10.24 % and heavy-medium coal preparation with grade at53.38 % Fe and recovery at 17.66 % within density of 4.35 g/cm3 are obtained. The united technology would be a new approach and method to comprehensive utilization of iron in smelting copper slag, which enjoys promising application prospect.
