Abstract:
Al-Zr master alloy is prepared by the new method of Al reducing ZrO
2 dissolved in molten salt and the effect of reduction time on Zr content in the Al-Zr master alloys is studied. The results showed that purer alloy can be gained because the Al-Zr master alloy prepared by the new method of Al reducing ZrO
2 dissolved in molten salt does not contain zirconia and alumina inclusion. The alloy samples analyzed by SEM and EEP show that the Zr of Al-Zr master alloy exists mainly in form of Al
