Abstract:
Using neodymium chloride (NdCl
3·6H
2O) and sodium soda (Na
2SO
4) as raw materials, this paperstudies the preparation of neodymium color powder by molten salt method. In the course of preparingphotochromic pearlescent pigment, the influence factors, including composition and dosage of molten salt, sintering temperature and time are investigated. The characters of synthesized powders are determined bySEM, XRD, and EDAX. The optimal process parameters of synthesizing photochromic pearlescent pigment arestudied. The results show that this pigment is characteristics of acid resistance, alkali proof and goodphotochromism.
