Abstract:
This paper introduces the design of a virtual mine teaching platform with Virtools to deepen student’s comprehension and visual impression of mining knowledge while avoiding the risk and cost of field practices. Students can observe closely the 3D layout of mines and mining procedures in the simulation condition, and even operates the mining devices interactively. Operation appropriateness can be automatically obtained. This teaching platform greatly enhances the intuitiveness, efficiency and safety of mining education. It has promising application in the fields of mining personnel training and virtual mining experiments.
