Abstract

The traditional process of producing Al-Sc alloy (contained 2% of Sc) is not fit for in dustrial production because of its high cost and complicated conditions. In the paper, preparation of Al-Sc alloy with metallothermic reduction is studied, the results show that the production conditions are simplified, the requirements of materials are lower, the process is shorted and the production costs is reduced. It opens the application of the alloy.
