Tribological Behaviors of Cu-Ag-Fe Alloy Carrying Electric Current

Abstract
This paper studies the influences of electrical current, sliding speed and load on the sliding wear of CuAg-Fe alloy. The results show that the electrical sliding wear performance of Cu-Ag-Fe alloy increases more than 2 times than that of Cu-Ag alloy due to the aging strengthening action of Fe element, which greatly lengthens the service life of Cu-Ag-Fe alloy. With the increase of electrical current, sliding speed and load, the mass wear rate of Cu-Ag-Fe alloy dramatically increases. During the electrical sliding processes, the adhesive wear, abrasive wear and electrical erosion are the dominant mechanisms. The phenomena of the adhesive wear intensify with the adding electrical current.
