The Fabrication of Al63Cu25Fe12 Quasi-crystalline by Casting Method

  • Al63Cu25Fe12 Quasi-crystalline was fabricated by ordinary casting method and its heat-treatment technique was explored. The morphology of the alloy was observed by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy and the composition of the alloy was anglicized by X-ray diffraction. The results indicated that the Al63Cu25Fe12 alloy was composed of three phases: PhaseⅠwith twenty equilateral triangles as faces structure, phase β with cubic structure and phase λ with monoclinic structure. PhaseⅠcontent could be increased obviously when annealed near the temperature ofⅠphase melting temperature.
