A research on the utilization ratio of Nd oxide in the industrial production of Nd metal

  • The paper point out that Nd2O3 of bastnaesite used as raw material of electrolysing process easily deposite in bottom in the process of oxide electrolysing Nd metal by fluoride system, because of low solubility of Nd2O3 in fused salt.The surface quality of Nd metal product is improved, fused salt inclusion is prevented and carbon content of products is decreased by adjusting fused salt proportioning and increasing utilization ratio of Nd oxide suitably.In a word, the aims of decreasing the formation of furnace slag, stabilizing furnace conditions, saving energy and cutting down the consumption can be achieved.
