Abstract
The research takes the Dexing Copper Mine in Jiangxi Province as an example to generate two Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) through different methods in 1986 and 2000. And the DEM is fused with the ASTER color image in the copper mine, based on RS technology combined with 3D-GIS. At the same time, the profiles of gangue pool are portrayed under GIS software, which clearly show the change of topography. At the last, the volume of gangue pool is calculated through the analysis of DEM, which can be the proof to investigate and monitor the excavated situation. The topography change and the excavating volume 3D modeling reflect the influence of the human mining activities on the nature, and provide us a theoretical base for land reclaiming and ecological rebuilding.
