  • Numerical simulation on AZ61 magnesium alloy was performed by using FEM software. The relevant factors including, billet temperature, extrusion speed rate, friction factor, cone of die and the length on the extrusion band which influence loading, effective stress and forming uniformity were discussed by orthogonal experimental design method. A reasonable conclusion is proposed based on simulation results which offer a reference for determining the extrusion process.
