Research status of properties and comprehensive utilization of cyanide tailings

  • Cyanidation tailings contain recyclable Au, Ag, Cu, Fe, Pb, Zn, S and other valuable metal elements, and the tailing stock is large. Recycling the valuable metal in cyanidation tailings not only plays a positive role in environmental protection but can also produce economic benefits. In this paper, this situation of the comprehensive usage of cyanide tailings was reviewed in terms of the properties and hazards of cyanide tailings, recovery processes of useful minerals in tailings, and the application of cyanide tailings in building materials industry. The main methods of recovering valuable metal in tailings were summarized, some problems existing in the comprehensive usage of cyanide tailings were analyzed, and the comprehensive utilization of cyanide tailings was proposed for future development.
