Research status and progress of ammonia zinc smelting and its pollutant control technology

  • With the rapid development of modern industry, zinc is an indispensable resource. The reasonable utilization of low-grade zinc oxide attached to zinc-rich secondary resources and the solutions for impurity purification have gradually become the key to further developing zinc recovery technology in China. The ammonia process for zinc extraction has unique advantages in dealing with complex zinc resources. This paper reviewed the development status of zinc recovery technologies at home and abroad. The pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy processes were both introduced and compared, and the research progress of ammonia zinc smelting and its pollutant control technology were the primary focus.
