Research status of preparation of rare earth oxides by liquid phase method

  • More and more rare earth materials have been applied to various fields of modern society due to their excellent performance and irreplaceability. Since China's rare earth resources are large in reserves and rich in types, it has unique advantages in their research and application. However, in their development and utilization, there are also problems such as low rare earth mining technology, surplus of low-end products, and insufficient high-end products, which restrict the progress and development of national science and technology. The production and application of rare earth oxides have become a hot issue in the research and application of rare earth resources. These oxides prepared by liquid-phase method have the advantages low synthesis temperature, low production cost and accurate control of product composition so that they have been widely used in their preparations. This article reviewed the process of preparing rare earth oxides by liquid phase method, and analyzed the characteristics of morphology, particle size of the products prepared by the method, and advantages and disadvantages of the process. The future development trend in rare earth oxide preparation process was prospected.
