Sustainable development of tungsten industry in Jiangxi province from the perspective of industrial cluster

  • China has the richest reserves of tungsten which has extremely important strategic value, and has become an indispensable mineral resource in the global national economy and national defense construction in the 21st century. China's tungsten reserves account for 61% of the world's reserves, but supply 83% of the world's total use. Jiangxi's production share accounts for 46% of the nation. Its tungsten industry has made an important contribution to China's economic development. There are such problems as serious resource destruction, low comprehensive recovery and utilization rate, serious environmental damage of tungsten mines, insufficient resource technology innovation, unreasonable industrial structure, gradually weakening advantages of tungsten resource, and inadequate supervision of tungsten industry in the development process of Jiangxi tungsten industry. Thus, the paper put forward reasonable suggestions, corresponding policies and measures for the sustainable development of tungsten resources from the perspective of industrial cluster.
