Research status and progress of chlorine removal technology in acid solution

  • The acid solution containing chlorine has caused serious harm to metallurgical industry. The waste acid produced by the flue gas purification system seriously corrodes the metal equipment and components, increases the production cost and reduces the production efficiency. In zinc hydrometallurgy, the chlorine in zinc sulfate electrolyte affects the zinc electrolysis process, accelerates the electrode corrosion, reduces the product quality of electrolytic zinc, reduces the economic benefits, and seriously endangers the production. Therefore, the research on the removal of chloride in acid solution is of great significance. Waste acid and zinc sulfate electrolyte are two typical acidic solutions with high chlorine content. This paper analyzes their generation and harm, summarizes the existing dechlorination technology and research status at home and abroad, and points out the main development direction of dechlorination technology for acid solution.
