Study on the fractal analysis method of rock stress waves

  • Rock stress wave propagation experiment was done to study the fractal analysis of rock stress waves under no axial static stress, aiming at theoretically exploring rock stress waves. According to the characteristics of rock stress waves, the box dimension and correlation dimension were used to study the rock stress wave under different measuring points, and the calculation and significance of the fractal dimension of stress wave were discussed. The results showed that the fractal dimension of rock stress wave could be calculated according to the box counting concept and G-P algorithm, and the box dimension of rock stress waves at different measurement points was 1.14~1.18, the correlation dimension 1.42~1.48, and the phase space dimension 7~9. The box dimension of the stress wave can reflect the complexity of the stress wave shape, and the correlation dimension can only reflect the similarity of the stress wave at the smallest scale.
