Abstract
In copper smelting process, converter blowing technology has some defects. This paper studies a new feeding port and chute are developed and designed by using the original converter end wall. The high-grade copper matte produced by smelting furnace is continuously discharged into the converter for blowing. The cold copper needed in the blowing process is added into the converter from the furnace mouth through the residual pole feeder. The copper is blown to the end point of shaking the furnace. Therefore, the problem of serious low-altitude pollution caused by frequent shaking of furnace feeding in the original converter blowing operation is solved. The advantages of flexible operation, large cold material rate, strong impurity removal ability are retained. According to the industrial test, the removal rate of Pb, As, Sb and Bi can reach 76.12%, 81.4%, 59.78% and 75.06%, respectively.
