Casting process optimization of martensitic stainless steel baffle based on ProCAST numerical simulation

  • According to the structural characteristics and quality requirements of martensitic stainless steel baffle, a horizontal vertical pouring process scheme and an annular bottom pouring side entry gating system were designed to ensure the smooth filling of baffle castings. The simulation results of the initial scheme show the defect rate of castings was greatly reduced from 24.2% to 1.56%. It ensured the compactness and comprehensive mechanical properties of castings.
