Application of cyclone electrowinning in non-ferrous metallurgy

  • Cyclone electrowinning is an advanced separation and extraction technology in non-ferrous metallurgy. It enhances mass transfer by circulation of electrolyte, eliminating concentration polarization effectively and extracting metals from complex solutions with a low concentration efficiently. It is widely used in the separation and extraction of heavy metals, precious metals and rare metals as well as solution purification. Its equipment is introduced and the technical process, parameters and indicators in its applications are summarized in this paper. The results show that this technology can be widely used in electrowinning electrolyte, shortening the process flow and improving productivity. There is a bigger role for cyclone electrowinning to play in the field of metallurgy owing to its favorable technical indicators such as cathode product quality, metal recovery rate, current efficiency, energy consumption and production cost.
