Study on the preparation of Co-doped LaFeO3 by microwave hydrothermal method and its photocatalytic performance

  • Perovskite LaFeO3 was synthesized by microwave hydrothermal method, with Co(NO3)2·6H2O, Fe(NO3)3·9H2O and La(NO3)3·H2O as raw materials, citric acid and glucose as the complexing agent and template agent respectively. The products were characterized by XRD, SEM, TG-DSC and FT-IR. The results showed that the doping of Co was helpful to improve the photocatalystic performance of LaFeO3, and the catalytic performance was better than that of pure LaFeO3 sample. When the doping amount x was 0.1, the catalytic performance reached the best, and when the illumination time lasted for 150 min, the degradation rate of methyl orange solution reached 99.46 %, which was 36.51 % higher than that of pure LaFeO3 sample.
