Synthesis and characterization of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 cathode materials

Abstract
LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 cathode materials were synthesized by co-precipitation method and high temperature solid-state method. The crystal structure and morphologies of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 were characterized by XRD and SEM, respectively. The effects of sintering temperature on the electrochemical properties of the composites were studied. The results show that the material calcinated at 850 ℃ exhibits the best electrochemical performance. When cycled at 25 ℃ under 1 C charged and 6 C discharged in the voltage range of 2.75~4.2 V, the sample delivers an initial discharge specific capacity of 124.2 mAh/g with capacity retention rate of 95.2 % after 50 cycles.
