Abstract
The modified resin CB-ACT was synthesized and used to adsorb RE3+ and Al3+ from the leaching solution in the Φ15 mm×130 mm adsorption column. The factors, including the initial solute concentration, the liquid flow rate, and the adsorption temperature were examined to develop a process for adsorbing RE3+ and Al3+ from the leaching solution in the dynamic adsorption experiment. The results show that the optimal conditions for the dynamic adsorption are initial solute concentration of 4 g/L, liquid flow rate of 4 mL/min, adsorption temperature of 308 K. Secondly, in order to selectively separate Al3+ from the resin which adsorbed RE3+ and Al3+, the 0.8 mol/L M(OH)n solution is used to elute the saturated adsorption resin. Under the optimum elution conditions, the ratio of Al2O3/REO in desorption solution can be as low as 0.34 %, and the aluminum has been basically removed completely.
