Technological mineralogy of a copper-iron- sulfur ore from Anhui

  • In order to find out the comprehensive utilization value of a certain mineral in Anhui, its chemical composition, mineral composition and dissemination character were researched by means of chemical analysis, microscope, and scanning electron microscope energy spectrum analysis. The results indicate that the sample is copper-iron-sulfur mineral with the grades of copper, iron, sulfur being 0.27 %, 27.87 %,16.76 % respectively. The copper element which accounts for 94.4 % is mainly in the form of chalcopyrite, iron element which accounts for 84.63 % is in the form of non magnetic minerals (pyrite, hematite) and the rest iron element is magnetite, with little magnetic pyrite. The copper and sulfur mineral are fine particles, and their monomer dissociation degree is high, while the iron minerals are in coarse and medium grain with low monomer dissociation degree. Copper mineral, iron mineral, sulfur mineral are in different forms with complex dissemination character, so it is difficult to separate them.
