Research progress of ozone in the field of hydrometallurgy

  • The worldwide status of research progress of ozone in the field of hydrometallurgy is reviewed. In addition to the traditional treatment for cyanide-contained wastewater, this paper focuses on the current research situation of the refractory metal sulfide ore leaching and oxidized precipitation of the low valence metal iron from solution for preparation of metal oxide powder. The leaching of refractory gold-bearing resources, galenite, chalcopyrite, tetrahedrite and chalcocite, and the powder preparation of cobalt oxide, nickel oxyhydroxide, silver oxide and manganese dioxide are introduced in detail. Finally, the existing problems and developing direction of ozone used in the field of hydrometallurgy are discussed.
