Electrical conductivity of NaCl-CaCl2-CaWO4 molten salt system

  • As one of the important physical and chemical parameters of molten salt, conductivity has good guid - ing significance on choosing the best electrolyte and electrolysis temperature. The study of the molten salt con - ductivity can indirectly understand ion structure of molten salt systems. The research of NaCl -CaCl2 -Ca WO4 molten salt system is also of significance to the further understanding of its mechanism of electrolytic conduc - tivity. Effects of temperature and component mole ratio in molten salt on conductivity of NaCl-CaCl2-CaWO4 system were investigated using CVCC method. Orthogonal experiment results indicated that the conductivity in molten salt increases with rise of temperature and NaCl content with NaCl being the main factor. When n(NaCl)∶n(CaCl2)=1∶1, namely the system of minimum total melting point appeared the low end of its conductivity, and the conductivity also increases with the increase of NaCl and CaCl2.
