Syntheses, structures and properties of CuII complex with 2, 2’-bipyridine-5, 5’-dicarboxylic acid

  • In this paper, a copper complex by using 2,2’-bipyridine -5,5’- dicarboxylic acid, copper oxide and perchloric acid through hydrothermal method are obtained. X-ray diffraction and SHELXTL software was used to analyze the structure of the complex Cu(H2bpdc)·ClO4(1) and the result shows that the complex 1 is a zero-dimensional structure. In complex 1, there are many hydrogen bonds between molecules, which results in a three-dimensional network structure through hydrogen bonds and π-π interaction. The solid fluorescence studies have shown that the phenomenon of fluorescence is quenching after the ligand coordination with the CuII ion. Thermo gravimetric analysis is used to study the thermal stability of the complex 1 and the relationship between thermal decomposition and the crystal structure. The research provides guidance and reference for exploiting new multi-dimensional organic metal frame structures and fluorescent materials.
