Process tests on a micro-fine and refractory iron ore

  • An iron ore belongs to micro-fine and refractory one, in which the usable minerals are hematite and magnetite with quartz as gangue mineral. Flotability is impacted by slurry out of the grinding process. Process tests are performed respectively on the iron ore including gravity separation, magnetic separation, flotation, selective flocculation and magnetizing roast. The results show that des-liming by selective flocculation, and reverse flotation through positive ion collector is the most optimized process. Iron concentrate with the grade of 59.67 % and the recovery rate of 78.84 % is obtained out of iron ore containing rate of 45.27 %.
