On production technology of nano-W powder

  • This article studies the production technology and process of nano-W powder out of APT. Purple tung- sten oxide of good quality is produced using APT as raw materials under the conditions of high temperature, humid hydrogen and mild reduction. Nano-W superfine powder with BET average grain size from 0.03 to 0.06 μm was prepared from purple tungsten oxide in the reduction furnace with the following technology conditions: reduction temperature 600~750 ℃, loading weight 0.25~0.50 kg, pushing speed 10~20 min, hydrogen flow rate 40~60 m3/h, and hydrogen dew point -70~-60 ℃. Technology parameters affecting the reduction of purple tungsten oxide were also analyzed. The results demonstrate that nano-W powder can be prepared from APT by conventional technology under appropriate technological conditions.
