Study on nickel plating on surface of carbon fiber

  • To optimize the technological conditions of nickel plating on carbon fiber surface, after electroplating nickel on carbon fiber surface, the weight gain rate of carbon fiber in different parameters were studied by orthogonal experiment, the effect of current density, plating time and temperature on the morphology and thickness of the coating were studied; and the adhesion between different thickness of coating and carbon fiber were tested. The results show that the surface of the nickel coating is smooth and uniform by the method of Current density of 0.56 A/dm2 and plating time of 6 min at 50℃ is the ideal for the coating.
